Fight: Life feels like war. Youโre bracing, defending, provingโeven when no oneโs swinging.
Flight: Youโre addicted to speed. Achieving, escaping, overdoingโbecause slowing down feels like death.
Freeze: Everything feels impossible. Even the tiniest task looks like Everest, and youโre standing there with a toothpick.
Different flavors. Same trap. Your system only knows danger.
Hereโs the kicker:
You canโt build freedom from fight, flight, or freeze. You can only recycle survival.

Sometimes it looks like endless action.
Sometimes it looks like total shutdown.
Either way, the lock runs the show.
Polyvagal theory sums it up in one question your system never stops asking:

If you never had many examples of safety, your body assumes everything is a threat.
It doesnโt matter how bulletproof your strategy is.
It doesnโt matter how many affirmations you plaster on your mirror.
If your nervous system is dysregulated, it will keep dragging you back into fight, flight, freezeโor fawn.
Thatโs why people overwork.
Thatโs why they canโt rest without guilt.
Thatโs why they keep reacting to shadows instead of opportunities.
Hereโs the reframe: your nervous system doesnโt need more time to heal.
It needs instructions. A roadmap back to safety.
It needs to know it can ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ you.
