Acknowledging the fact that, yes, in a ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ญ world everything would be merit & qualification based, letโs dive into why this wonโt work in our current societyโฆ
As an expert in the unconscious mind, Iโm noticing a lot of people missing the point of this conversation.
First, a basic but important baseline premise: The universe has at its root The Law Of Equality.
This isnโt up for debate. All prophets & teachers (including Jesus btw) taught that we are all equal. Bottom line. The end.
(Callback to JC raging out, throwing over tables and yelling about divisiveness in Babel)
However, a long time ago in a land far, far away, a group of people decided they didnโt WANT to be considered of equal importance to the rest of the people, and created a system to make it so.
They decided who else got to be considered important (pretty much anyone like them, with the same resources and social standing) and who was less important. Everyone else. They then enacted a very similar set of psychological principles as t seen in high school: they told everyone they were the cool kids and also pointed out who wasnโt โcoolโ.
Similar to high school, even if you werenโt โcoolโ, you were tolerated if you supported them. If you didnโt support them, or werenโt considered cool, you were targeted. Baring in mind, their specific targeting methods included brutal murder, starvation tactics, ritualization of taxation (aka legal theft) and enslavement.
That original system still exists within societyโs unconscious programming and plays out on a daily basis.
Itโs consistent message: ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐๐.
(Quick catch up about unconscious programming: it is 97% of the brain, and it is below conscious awareness. So we donโt know whatโs going on down there, until it shows up symptomatically)
Global society (and each country) has a collective unconscious mind with its own set of limiting beliefs.
Built into the unconscious programming are false narratives about the uncool kids:
Women
People of different Race
People from different Countries of origin
People with disabilities
People with atypical gender or sexual preferences
Mental health challenges
(And many others)
These false narratives produce an unconscious bias in most humans, even ones who fall into the above categories.
Itโs no oneโs fault they exist at this point (except for the creators of the original prejudice). They just exist and itโs not okay.
What happens is that this unconscious bias affects decision making when it comes to jobs, pay scale, eligibility for promotion etc.
And theyโre unconscious. So the person making the decision is not even aware that their unconscious prejudices are affecting their decisions. The only people who can see it clearly, are the people who are on the receiving end of the unconscious bias. Itโs obvious. ๐๐ฌ
What DEI programs do is counterweight the unconscious bias intentionally.
DEI says: We know that there are some unfair unconscious biases in society, and we are here to counteract that, and invite you to take a firmer, clearer, more intentional look at your decisions.
Iโm not debating what it became. Or how it may have been misused.
Iโm here to enlighten about the original psychology and purpose behind this program.
Until unconscious bias around gender, race, religion, ability, sexual orientation etc is completely removed from society, we NEED checks and balances for our brain to be invited into a space of neutrality.
And people who have been on the receiving end of unconscious bias their whole lives, need an advocate, so they donโt have to yell about their human right to be treated as an equal anymore. Itโs exhausting for everyone.
They have to yell. If they donโt stop yelling, the unconscious bias wins.
DEI lets everyone put down their swords for a moment, and breathe.
Thatโs a win for society.

Hmmm sounds interesting ๐ค
